Belly of The Beast Cuba.-  Both of Ernesto’s legs are prosthetic, but you wouldn’t know it. He works every day on a small farm on the outskirts of Havana. But his prosthetic legs, which he received for free from Cuba’s healthcare system, are not ideal. They are too rigid and often break when he is working. There is a European company that sells more flexible prosthetics, but Cuba – and thus Ernesto – cannot obtain them due to U.S. sanctions. Original release: Oct. 9, 2020 in Episode 1 of our documentary series The War on Cuba.
